Easy Scones

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unbleached flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (or dried fruit)
  • 1 1/4 cups whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • 2 combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in bowl. add the chocolate chips (or optional ingredient, such as dried fruit).
  • 3 stir in the cream with a fork until dough holds together in a sticky mass (you may need to add a tablespoon or more of cream until dough holds together).
  • 4 turn dough out on a highly floured board. knead several times.
  • 5 pat dough into a 10-inch circle. cut into 8 wedges (or other shape as desired).
  • 6 place on ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  • 7 brush dough with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
  • 8 bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
