Dane Dumplings

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • salt
  • 6 eggs

Recipe

  • 1 in heavy saucepan, heat butter and water over med-low heat until butter melts.
  • 2 remove from heat and stir in flour.
  • 3 return to med-low heat and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • 4 remove from heat and cool.
  • 5 add the eggs, 3 at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • 6 stir in a dash of salt.
  • 7 drop dumplings into boiling soup.
  • 8 cook for 10 to 15 minutes with lid off.
