Ingredients

- 1 lb dried navy beans, rinsed
- 4 cups water
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 8 ounces cooked ham, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 3 large carrots, sliced
- 2 medium onions, coarsely chopped
- 2 celery ribs, sliced
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons molasses
Recipe
- 1 in slow cooker, soak beans overnight in 4 cups water.
- 2 cover; cook on high for 3 hours.
- 3 add remaining ingredients; mix well.
- 4 cover; cook on high for an additional 3 to 4 hours or until beans are tender.
