Garides Saganaki (greek Shrimp With Feta)

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3 lbs raw large shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 cups butter
  • 1 lb feta cheese, crumbled
  • 3/4 cup cream
  • 1 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 small tomato, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 peel and devein shrimp.
  • 2 sprinkle with lemon juice and garlic set aside.
  • 3 melt butter in large skillet.
  • 4 saute garlic green onion and tomato.
  • 5 add shrimp and season with oregano salt and pepper to taste.
  • 6 turn shrimp frequently and saute until pink.
  • 7 add feta cheese and cream.
  • 8 bring to boil and cook 3 to 4 minutes.
  • 9 remove shrimp carefully to casserole.
  • 10 spoon cheese mixture over shrimp.
  • 11 serve with rice.
