French Silk Pie

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1 cup stick butter (not whipped butter, not margarine, it won't set up)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 ounces melted cooled unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • baked pie shell
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • sliced almonds (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter. gradually add sugar. cream micture 10-15 minutes.
  • 2 blend in chocolate, vanilla, and the eggs. must add eggs one at a time, beating 5 minutes after each (or see shortcut).
  • 3 pour into baked pie shell. chill 2 hours.
  • 4 garnish with whipped cream &/or almonds. again, the secret is in the beating - enjoy!
