French Toast

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 -5 drops vanilla essence
  • 4 -5 slices stale bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 -5 teaspoons caster sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter

Recipe

  • 1 boil milk with sugar and essence.
  • 2 remove from heat.
  • 3 set aside.
  • 4 soak bread slices in milk for a few seconds without letting bread fall apart.
  • 5 then dip bread slices one at a time in beaten eggs.
  • 6 heat butter in a pan.
  • 7 fry the slices in the butter.
  • 8 when golden in colour, turn the bread slices over and cook the other side.
  • 9 arrange the slices in a serving dish.
  • 10 sprinkle some castor sugar over the slices.
  • 11 serve warm.
