Feta Baked With Tomato & Oregano

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans egg tomatoes, drained
  • 2 tablespoons oregano, leaves chopped
  • 14 ounces feta cheese, broken up into large chunks
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • salt, if desired, the feta may make this dish salty enough so be careful

Recipe

  • 1 heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan, add the garlic and cook for a minute.
  • 2 add the chili and tomatoes and simmer for 25 minutes until thickened. season and stir in the oregano.
  • 3 heat the oven to 400°f
  • 4 put the feta in an ovenproof dish, cover with sauce and bake for 20 minutes before serving.
  • 5 serve as a hot spread with crusty bread.
