Bordelaise Sauce A La Virginia Hospitality

Total Time: 33 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 28 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 tablespoons red wine (i use hearty burgundy)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 dash fresh ground black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 saute the mushrooms in butter for 4 minutes.
  • 2 stir in cornstarch. blend in beef broth and cook until mixture boils.
  • 3 add wine, lemon juice and pepper. simmer 15-20 minutes.
