Gooey Chocolate Walnut Bars With Shortbread Crust

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup cold butter, no subsitutes (cut into small pieces)
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups coarsley chopped walnuts
Recipe
- 1 set oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 butter a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- 3 for the crust; in a processer mix the flour, sugar and salt until combined (about 4-5 seconds).
- 4 add in the butter and process until crumbly.
- 5 press into bottom of the baking dish.
- 6 bake for about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- 7 for the filling; in a large mixing bowl whisk the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter and vanilla until well combined.
- 8 mix in the chocolate chips and nuts.
- 9 pour over the crust.
- 10 bake for about 25-30 minutes or until set.
