Ingredients

- 20 button mushrooms, whole
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 tablespoons fresh breadcrumbs
- 1/2-3/4 teaspoon garlic powder (or more for a stronger flavour) or 1/2-3/4 teaspoon garlic pepper seasoning
- salt
- pepper
Recipe
- 1 dip the mushrooms in the egg.
- 2 mix the breadcrumbs and the garlic granules and season with salt and pepper (don't add pepper if you are using garlic pepper).
- 3 dip the mushrooms in the breadcrumb mixture.
- 4 deep fry in hot oil until golden.
- 5 drain and blot on kitchen paper.
- 6 serve with cocktail sticks and a separate sauce for dipping such as bleu cheese dip or ranch dip.
