Featherlight Scones

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • sugar

Recipe

  • 1 in a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • 2 stir in the egg, yogurt and vanilla until just combined. turn onto a floured surface; knead 6-8 times.
  • 3 roll into a 9 inch circle; cut into 8 wedges. place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • 4 brush tops with milk; sprinkle with sugar. bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. serve warm.
