Garlic Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons minced onions
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 cups half-and-half
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups parmesan cheese, shredded
Recipe
- 1 in large saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat.
- 2 add onion and garlic and cook for 4 minutes, stirring frequently, or until onion is tender.
- 3 reduce heat to medium-low.
- 4 add flour, and cook, whisking constantly for 2 minutes.
- 5 gradually add half-and-half, whisking constantly, for 8-10 minutes or just until mixture comes to a boil.
- 6 remove from heat, and stir in nutmeg, salt and pepper.
- 7 add cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- 8 serve with pasta, vegetables, chicken or seafood.
