Garlic & Onion Mashed Potatoes

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs russet potatoes
  • 1 medium yellow onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream (regular or lite)
  • 1/4 cup milk (roughly)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or margarine)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 peel potatoes, cut into large chunks and place in a pot of boiling water.
  • 2 (cook potatoes until they can be mashed with a spoon).
  • 3 meanwhile brown the onion and the garlic in a small amount of butter.
  • 4 strain the potatoes and place back into pot.
  • 5 (leave the burner on a low heat).
  • 6 add the browned onions and garlic.
  • 7 add the sour cream, milk, butter, garlic salt, garlic powder and salt.
  • 8 mash all together.
  • 9 mash the potatoes until desired"thickness.
  • 10 "note***please feel free to use more or less of any of the ingredients to attain desired taste.
  • 11 note***using more milk will result in"creamier" mashed potatoes and less milk will result in"chunkier" mashed potatoes.
