Gule Aeter - Danish Pea Soup

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 2 cups yellow split peas
- 1 liter water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 500 g bacon, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 3 leeks, chopped
- 3 carrots, peeled & chopped
- 3 potatoes, peeled & chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 smoked ham hock
- 125 g vienna sausages, chopped
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 place all the ingredients into a large pot, bring to the boil and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
- 2 remove the hock from the soup and remove the meat from the bone, chop into small pieces and put back into soup.
- 3 serve.
