Classic Welsh Rarebit

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 lb cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 tablespoons beer

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in top of double boiler.
  • 2 add flour and dry mustard and mix.
  • 3 gradually add milk, stirring until mixture thickens.
  • 4 add worcestershire and cayenne pepper.
  • 5 slowly add cheese and stir until melted.
  • 6 add beer, stir and serve.
